Today was a double-warm-dress day: a bracing zodiac cruise in the morning and a wet landing following dinner. Sadly I was concentrating so hard on getting all my warm layers on in the right order – extra socks first or rain pants? – and readjusting my life jacket for the extra layers, that I forgot to bring my phone. So I have no photos from the cruise where we saw two polar bears and a humpback whale. My only consolation is that the polar bear pic would have looked like my caribou pic from a couple of days ago – blurry and almost indistinguishable.
We sailed down an iceberg alley during dinner which kept us all alert, looking for the next one in line.

Following an early dinner, we headed for Resolution Island. See map above. This iceberg was so amazing it deserves its own recognition. If you click on the photos you will be able to see a larger version.

Resolution Island looks like no Canada I have ever seen! I felt like I was maybe on the moon, or perhaps on a sci-fi movie set. The wet landing was a bit of a challenge as we had to clamber over boulders to reach an area where we could swap our boots for hiking shoes and remove our life jackets. Walking anywhere called for care. But what an amazing and starkly beautiful place!
There is only one day left on this amazing trip to the Arctic. See you then!
