South East Asia – Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam – has called out to me so I am taking a second Road Scholar tour, Journey into the Heart of Asia (http://www.roadscholar.org/). I will be travelling for three weeks and plan to keep this blog as current as wifi connections will allow.

This time, I have no trepidation about travelling for three weeks in close quarters with 25 people I don’t yet know. My Road Scholar tour of India last year was a delight from start to finish in part because it was so well planned and organized with new and interesting things to do each day, but perhaps in larger part because of my exceptionally congenial tour mates.

This time I am very much looking forward to meeting the other people on my tour, and to learning about them and about the four countries we will visit.
