On the Move

I was born in Toronto many MANY years ago, but have never spent any time there as an adult. Now the time has come to unearth my inner Torontonian, and what better way than to start with the top 10 things to do in the city? That, and lots of neighbourhood walks, two plays and even a Blue Jays game. Sounds great, doesn’t it? I’m so excited!

Following two weeks in Toronto, I am heading south to visit my sister and her family in Princeton, NJ and to spend a week or so in New York. I have walking cards left over from my previous trip to NYC and am looking forward to picking up where I left off. (You can read about my walking cards here.) And I am really excited to attend a ballet and four more plays! What a culture crawl this visit will be.

But I am especially excited to take my new iPhone 14 Pro on this trip. I needed a new phone, mine was losing battery at an worrisome rate, but I did not expect to fall in love with its camera so completely that I am leaving my DSLR – usually an inseparable travel companion – at home. I enrolled in a series of online photo courses called iPhone Photo Academy and iPhone Editing Academy, created by a young Latvian man, which have unveiled the super powers of my iPhone camera. I hope to wow you with its 48 megapixel capabilities – and to not disappoint myself.

Next stop – T.O!

    Hi Nancy,
How are you getting from Princeton to NYC? Any chance for another stop in NJ? I’d love to have you visit.

      Hi Shelley,
I loved reading that you are in Sicily again. I hope it is therapeutic and not depressing. You didn’t sound depressed!

Dropping in on you in Warren sadly won’t work because we have tickets here and tickets there and the first few days are pretty scripted. Will you be able to get into the city for a lunch or dinner?

I’d love to see you too!

Wow! And I’ve been feeling guilty for abandoning my interchangeable lens camera for an expensive zoom. You’ve gone beyond me. I’m looking forward to the pictures. And include a few words on processing in your posts if it doesn’t bore everyone else. Nothing detailed. I’m looking forward to both journeys!

I shall include a few words, and if I need more than a few, I’ll email you. I sent you a photo I took in the taxi on the way to the city. Pretty cool stuff you can do with an iPhone!
