Our last foray in Sevegre found us looking at this crowd scene at 6 am. Was Jennifer Lawrence expected to make an entrance? Ryan Gosling perhaps? No! Someone spotted a resplendent quetzal! Once again I tried to get that great shot and ended up with less. But at least I can say, as I leave San Gerardo de Dota, that the resplendent quetzal is real.

Along the way from Sevegre to San Jose, we stopped to take advantage of the view. I took the photo at the top of this page with my wide angle lens, happy that the occasion arose. Costa Rica is an extraordinary country in so many ways: in its commitment to sustainability, in its provision of free healthcare for all, in its lengthy stable democracy in a continent familiar with dictators and unstable governments.
Along the way from Sevegre to San Jose we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. I haven’t been taking food photos because we have been eating mostly buffets. This meal included salad, rice, chicken stew, a tortilla with a cassava/meat mixture, plaintain, beans and even a fried egg – enough to feed about three of me.
Outside the restaurant I found these street scenes.
Along the way from Sevegre to San Jose I had to find a way to say goodbye to these wonderful people who have made my journey to Costa Rica so wonderful. Thank you to you all. I wish you happy and safe travels in the future.
And I hope that you who are reading these posts have enjoyed my scribblings and photos. It has been great fun giving them to you. Take care!
