This morning’s sunrise did not disappoint. We returned to Schwabacher’s Landing, though in a slightly different location than last evening.
As we watched the sun rise, the peaks became quite pink and yellow. The water was still except for a couple of ducks that dared to cross our view. It was quite a magical experience.
We then returned to the same place we shot from last night where I also shot the image in the header of this post. I prefer this morning’s shoot to last evening’s.

We went cruising for wildlife and found only this moose – and my doppelganger! – at a visitor’s centre. Our leader thinks the weather is too nice, especially midday, as we have seen almost no animals. Our fingers are crossed for tomorrow.

Dinner tonight was at the fearsomely named Gun Barrel Steak & Game House. My colleague’s swizzle stick did not prepare me for what was to come.

I started with a salad of greens and fruit topped with a ball of burrata cheese. My entree was halibut on a bed of corn and red onions and asparagus topped with frizzled onions and accompanied by an out-of-this-world sauce. Such delicate flavours! Such a surprise!

While we haven’t yet found any live wildlife, this little critter welcomed us to the ladies room.

Following dinner we shot the Mormon barns, structures left over from a Mormon settlement that are now maintained by the National Parks. The Mormons moved into the area in the 1890s. After the federal government created the Grand Teton National Park in 1929, it purchased much of the Morman settlement lands. The inhabitants were allowed to live out their lives in their homesteads. The village was finally abandoned in the 1950s. We will return tomorrow morning to shoot more of these barns at sunrise.

Goodnight! See you tomorrow!
